That not withstanding, Sulley was fantastic as of that time. Kevin and Essien were just not good enough for that particular world cup per their own standard. Period. They and the GFA just made things hard for the quiet and calm coach. The coach was not the best but was good enough. No coach would have survived the problems we had as at that time. I was just against Appiah calling Kevin back, but he didn't listen and did stick to his guns, now the rest is history. Kevin is even blaming you for giving him a second chance. That guy no force koraa.

AA decided to field his second team first so that when the opponents get tired, the first team would come in & massacre the opponent . This was his explanation. Is this a coach? Yes, but this happens probably only on Pluto or Jupiter. Not on this Earth. Was Adomah a World Cup material? No. Why was he there? AAs family ties. These are a few of the underlying problems. What about the captaincy? Either Essien or Sule was in line for that. They are more senior than our beloved Baby Jet. Why then was Gyan the captain? Appiah's way of bringing the exiled striker back to the team. Is that the right way ? No. So many issues not addressed properly way before the World Cup .
Gyan himself showed no leadership. There was a twist to this - for Gyan could not, indeed would not, dare to confront Essien, Kevin or Sule in any matter . Some sort of inferiority complex. The other boys like Badu, Boye, Atsu etc would sing along with Gyan even if they believe he is wrong. Another side of the complex. We needed someone with good interpersonal skills to handle such complex & delicate situation . AA was not such a person

The team was decent, after all the same team beat Egypt by a wide margin, by the same coach who we are bashing. So what if all things were favorable regarding the money issue and team chemistry! 1. We were the only people stupid enough to carry $3m cash in a suit around the planet.
2. We were the only people that Ronaldo could score against because our stupid goalkeeper passed the ball to him.
3. We were the only country with a defender who scored an own-goal in two matches and still gave him all the play time even when he was not playing well.
4. Even though our players were not cannibalistic and did not bite anybody, they were in fights most of the time.
