The dumb moo Kwasi Appiah acted like a cow but was later sacrificed. For years, he acted like there is no problem at the Stars Camp when frustrated players like Muntari and Jordan Ayew were fighting him in Lesotho and other places. Nyantakyi is a snake who will always fight for his masters to keep his job. He knows very well his office will be invaded by EOCO if he plays with the NDC. That has already happened before during the Presidency of Atta Mills. So now it's chop make I chop with the Sports Ministry. Why did Otumfuo have to beg the Ayews to come back? The answer is simple. Kwasi Appiah was a complete cow to Nyantakyi whose Boss is Mahama, a close friend of Abedi Pele. And Otumfuo has always been the refuge for Mahama, whether it's about election fraud, Black Stars issues, or even Azonto Yen tie obiaa against Ashantis.

The GFA and its mother, the Ministry of Sports, are both easy prey for Corrupt Officials. The prime reason for their exclusive vulnerability to Corruption is the longstanding attribute (though improving) of relative lower education, and even illiteracy, of a host of Sportsmen and Women who form the core of participants in their activities. Added to that, is the much greater attraction of their activities to foreign travels.
As long as Ghanaians continue to view traveling abroad as a source of prestige in their local circles, and almost everyone craves for an opportunity to travel outside, the scramble after that quest often presents Officials of those 2 Outfits a greater leverage than normal to manipulate those Institutions to their personal profit.
It is no wonder that Kim Grant claims he never received his bonuses due him for his participation in certain National assignments. Many more Sportsmen and -Women of lesser educational background and awareness of their rights under contracts had been similarly dumped by the roadside by the corrupt, selfish Officials who virtually steal all allowances due to the Sportsmen and -women.
Meanwhile, due to lack of uniformity in how logistics are handled in all the different events in different Countries, the Sports Ministry, and especially, the GFA, often have a field day to claim various expenses that are hard to catch in normal Auditing.
These 2 Outfits have, thus, become resourceful locations for Government Officials to milk the State and our Sports participants. And I strongly believe whatever booty the Officials directly in charge obtain from their nefarious activities is shared with other higher entities to 'buy' the former's continuity in those positions.
The level of Education among our Sportsmen and Women have improved a lot since the 60s and 70s. But still the general perception prevails in the GFA and Ministry of Sports that the Athletes are ignorant and easy prey to be milked directly or indirectly.
It is even the recent greater external exposure of our local Footballers like Muntari, Essien and others and their intermingling with the likes of Kevin Prince Boateng who were raised abroad in developed Countries, that has emboldened many, of these Athletes to stand up against Corruption in the GFA.
Often, the little noises of protest by other cheated Athletes in the less prominent Sports activities like Track and Field, Women's Soccer and Boxing could hardly make the headlines in our Media let alone being heeded by the Authorities for due redress.
But we have to draw the line, now, and let the Government know that we cannot waste our national resources, the taxpayers contributions, to fill private pockets of fraudulent Officials. How many times should we have to quietly ignore the fake claims of lost Cash-stashed suitcases intended for paying our overseas traveling Sports folks?
The fact that we would even allow any such conveyance of huge amounts of money in real physical Cash in suitcases across the border raises many questions on the very intentions of the Officials involved. No such idiotic practice would be allowed in the USA, for example. Ghanaian Officials allow such Cash transactions because they afford these kleptocrats opportunities to misuse the money without leaving any proper paper trail for auditing. Then the Officials would make up stories and manufacture fictitious documents along the way to support and mask their fraud.
The $3 Million Cash airlift-payment to our World Cup players in Brazil is one such most stupid, uncivilized and corruptible practice.
Meanwhile, our Law Enforcement Agencies would not act to stop that criminal behavior among fellow Government Officials. The Public must therefore challenge the Government and the Ministry of Sports and GFA more and more to keep these Institutions in line.
The Officials must know that we now are fully aware of all their tricks and schemes with which they loot funds intended for our Sportsmen and -women. And that it is a matter of time that we would have bold Judges and Attorneys-General to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the Law.
