Atsu had his pick of several clubs after the World Cup but chose Everton. He is a good player but Everton was the wrong choice. He should have gone to a mid table/lower placed side where he could play every game and get experience and exposure.
Look at players such as Bolasie at Palace...not as good as Atsu but is now having the exposure where people are looking to buy him for £10m+.
Atsu should try and see if he can get moved to a more suitable club, where he gets more game time.
This keeps on repeating itself with Ghanaian players making the wrong choices when it comes to clubs especially ones going to Russia.

He made the fundamental mistake when he refused to extend contract at Porto. They adored him and had full playing time, plus Porto plays in the UEFA Champions League. Look at the fortunes of Ibrahim, the BBC Africa Football Player if the year. Ghanaian players, for most part, always make wrong choices and decisions .

I disagree. Atsu is a very talented and ambitious young and he made the right decision to join an elite team as far as I'm concerned. Success does not come easy and I'm not giving up on him yet. What's even more encouraging ... read full comment
I disagree. Atsu is a very talented and ambitious young and he made the right decision to join an elite team as far as I'm concerned. Success does not come easy and I'm not giving up on him yet. What's even more encouraging about him is he realizes he's not doing well and needs to step up his game. This is Atsu's learning curve moment and I'm confident he will pick up the pieces and restore the confidence reposed in him earlier. He's not a failure until he quits sharpening his skills and smoothen out his rough edges. I believe in him.
