It is an undeniable fact that all our players are very very poor penalty kick takers and I don't think it is too late to add its practice to all the training regimen our stars undertake before the world cup! It is part of the game and very important. True, anybody can miss but it is one thing to take a good kick and miss and another thing to take a poor, dispiriting kick like the missed one he took!

If you watch the full match, you will see that the spot where he put the ball was not flat enough. As somebody pointed out he tried to place the ball on a flat but the referee did not allow him. You always jump to conclusion and criticise people before getting the full facts. It is about time you stop that.

Yet he is talking as if Warris has been missing all the penalties he takes. If you have any advise you will sensibly tell him to watch before he attacks. I am not surprise, because I have been told you do the same here. It is not only Warris who needed to brush up on his penalty. All the Black Star players including the captain needs to do the same. Even Lionel Messi has missed a penalty in his career. Just reflect on yourself because you have got a lot to reflect on and leave others to sort themselves out.

What is my crime here? This is a constructive criticism, I've been saying this ever since I saw his first penalty kick. Yesterday's one was his 4th kick since he arrived in France. He scored the first 2, the third one was punched by the keeper luckily the ball bounced back to Waris so he finally put it in and his last kick has been saved. It doesn't matter whether the spot was flat or not, if it isn't good enough, the referee wouldn't allow it. The guy needs to work on his kicks, it's a fact and we have to tell him the truth so he'll do better.

It was a poor penalty by Warris but I believe the penalty spot was partly to blame. It was more like a pot-hole. Realising that, Warris placed it just along the edge. But the ref. insisted he placed it back in the "pot-hole". So I believe that was a contributory factor to the weak shot. Having said that he took his goal very well. His movement off the ball and quick acceleration enabled him to race onto the ball towards the bye-line. Then as if about to cross with his left foot he instead dummied the full back by cutting the ball back to his right foot and shooting low into the net of the near post. For me I am consoled by the fact that he looked fit pacy and strong after the minor injury.
