I am not a GAHANA but i wish to comment thus. Ghana is one of the 10 nations to play in the playoffs against an African Country. However, the bBlackstars have been have played against Turkey and Japan, two non African Teams. Now, the Black stars are going to play against Italy ,an European Team. This is not right at all. It is a waste. Rather than playing against African Oppositions and thus get prepared well for the playoff, Ghana is busy traveling long distances(Japan, Turkey etc) to meet irrelevant oppositions. This may affect the Blackstars negatively. Take a look at the Teams that are not likely to be seeded (like Egypt, Burkina faso, Senegal, Ethiopia ), these are Teams that can defeat the so-called Powerhouse like Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana,). If any of the so-called Power houses thinks that the unseeded Teams are easy to defat(and that it has already qualified for the world cup), that would be the greatest mistake of all times. Arrogance would lead to shocking defeats for the so-called big 5.

GFA is all about money they do not care. GFA is being very arrogant making everything stand like we are already in Brazil.

Nijaboy I am amazed at your short sightedness concerning Ghana playing against Italy. Even though am I woman I know that Italy is better than most African teams so it far better to prepare for the playoffs by the playing better teams. If Ghana keeps playing African teams they will never rise above the mediocre. Secondly I believe a lot of African teams don't do well at the World Cup stage because they have not been playing against the good world teams like Germany, Italy, Brasil, Spain etc. I am very happy the Football people in Ghana are organizing strong matches for the Black Stars. If the Italy match is in UK then I will surely attend!!!!

Why be scared? They should just take on the challenge.

Anokwale, the question is why do we have to play them so soon AFTER a competitive world cup qualifier? And why did we say no to Brazil and then book Italy for the SAME date?

All the better teams in Africa are getting prepared for a show down to Brazil. Does FIFA rules allow playing friendlies with them at this stage, and if so are the teams ready to accept the friendlies as at now?

You may have a point but what you have not considered are the facts that these friendlies with the European countries bring in a lot of foreign currency to the GFA. Another is that playing friendlies among African countries is no longer attractive and therefore sidelined by the GFA. On another note, the BS do not necessarily have to play African teams to know how they play as we already know that. Ghana are playing these big nations in preparation for the eventuality of facing them in the WC (Which we are yet to qualify for by the way)That was the main reason why we wanted to play Brazil as they are the host nation. It is therefore not a useless exercise playing friendlies with these nations, the experience may come handy come the WC so chill out.

Why are we playing a friendly against Italy 4 days after playing a world cup play-off qualifier?
This is EXACTLY what we did with Japan after Zambia that everybody is complaining about. Have we not learnt from that experience? The risk is that we will field another weakened team.
My second question is, why did we turn down Brasil using the world cup playoff as an excuse, only to then go and book Italy on the SAME date?

This italy crap will end up like the failed japan game: our senior players won't participate, italy will beat us 6 nill and our fifa ranking will be worse. Nyantekyi despite being a lawyer looks and sounds too stupid, naive and shallow minded. He is not fit to chair our fa. As for akwesi appiah the least said about him the better. He has never won any friendly game in asia and europe since he undeservedly became blackstars coach. If we make it pass the group stage in brazil it will be a miracle. We need coach milo or simple put we need a proper and experienced professional coach to help us in brazil . Our qualification to brazil shall be credited to our players and not aa because aa is a poor and incopetent like kwesi nyantekyi !, the so called gfa blind leader.

This cannot be true!!! More especially, the date for the match. We all know that Ghana as a seeded team will play away from home in the first leg. By FIFA convention home teams determine the match dates/days within three dates/days, usually between Friday and Sunday. It will not be the decision of the GFA to choose a convenient day for matches. I'm most disappointed Christopher Opoku is leading this anti FA crusade.

Not the best time to play Italy by the way as our boys would be exhausted after such a big playoff game. We will still go and watch them, please tell us when the tickets will be on sale. Thanks
