You expect the players to mature; however, you don't want to call them? By us taking that rout, isn't it going to look like an employer who refuses to give opportunities in hiring entry level employees but will take them when they are already experienced? Who should give them the chance to mature for us to pick them up later?
Not all of them could be called at this time. We get that part. Contrary, there are few you and I saw just a week ago and believe have the talents to graduate immediately. If Jordan Ayew was given that opportunity to show what he could do, why not giving the same to others as well when the potential is apparent?

One thing I know about US is that they want everything big. It is of late their vehicles have been downsized; otherwise, they were driving 4 bedroom house with chamber and hall attached on streets.
Big and tall is nothing but a clothing store. Football is not for those with shoe sizes 19 and up. With those feet, they work only on wood floors. We are not talking about basket ball players in here, bro, and also not that American Football junk. We are talking about SOCCER, Mr. Americana. Know the difference.
You see, they want big and tall players and it is the reason US has not been able to make it as they are supposed to. They have all the resources this world could contain, but their selection of players is based on who is tall and who is big.
I have some players at Virginia Commonwealth University, VCU. Because they are short though have football skills than most of their tall and big competitors, they were not called for all American U-20.
By the way you said Messi is tall? How tall is he? When you are able to get Messi's height, compare him with the average footballer's height and tell me if he is tall or not.

They are all good materials for the Black Stars it must be a gradual process. Probably they must pass through u-23 or Black Meteors before unless they are exceptional or we don't have that quality at a particular position.

There is time for everything, as the bible says, and if this is their time to be called why not?
Most of these players are not ready which is obvious but at least few are. Here is an experience I gained from arguing with POW that Dede wasn't a Black Stars material. Yes, I may be right initially because Dede was struggled but eventually, he made it. Look at a sensational player we have in him today.
Who knows, some of them may go through similar process but the country will benefit from such a decision and experience later.
If there is an U-23 tournament approaching, why not, we should invite them as you put it. Unfortunately not at the moment. The immediate up coming match is the WC qualification. If there is a chance of inviting few, like they are saying 3 or 4, I think the opportunity should be given to them.
We kept Anthony Annan and Derrick Boaten for our defensive midfield position for so long; even though these players were not getting playing time in their respective clubs whilst Rabiu Mohammed was playing regularly but wasn't getting call up till recently.
What I will say is, if there is a need to bring few into the Black Stars fold to mingle with the big boys and to gain experience for them, we should make way for that. Agyeman Badu, for instance straight from U-20, fitted in perfectly. Dede has as well adjusted and has fitted into the squad.
Therefore to me, Clifford Aboagye, Frank Acheampong, Baba Hahman and Ebenezer Assifuah should be called. With these players in mind and with the coming encounter with Zambia, rest Edwin Gyimah for now and replace him with Clifford Aboagye; allow Albert Adomah also to rest and replace him with Frank Opoku Acheampong; and last give Dominic Adiyiah a break and bring in Ebenezer Assifuah for a change. I understand Frank Acheampong doesn't play right wing as Adomah does but Andre Ayew could play the right wing for Frank Acheampong to be a back-up for Christian Atsu at the left wing.
You may ask why I left our future defensive midfield general, Seidu Salifu. In terms of Seidu Salifu, there is nowhere in that defensive mid he could play at this time because our defensive midfield position is too packed in the names of Agemang Badu, Rahui Mohamed, Sulley Ali Muntari and Mubarak Wakaso. We have back-up upon back-ups. The rest have the chance to make it though will take some time.
So you see, A Concern Citizen, my good friend, we may never know if the opportunity is there but refuse to give it out.

Asifuah was top scorer because he was selfish. he wasted many chances in the semis that will have landed ghana in the final but always want to score. Good for him! he should learn from Adiya and relise winning the golden booth mean nothing!!!. He should work on his speed if he plans going far. And for Acheampong, I can't tell in baldness is in his genes or its a matter of age, but he was just fantastic. My player of the tornament for our No. 10. classy, selfless and skillful. He needs to work in the gym and eat more to get some toughness.

Just like when we used a lot of our 2001 U-20 team to form our senior team it should continue to be that way. I even believe that if we had used the same strategy of using the 2001 U-20 team players that qualified us for our first world cup in the past we probably could have been like Cameroon and been to the world cup a lot of times already.

What about the best players in the local league who are tall and mature looking and cannot pose for U-20? Are we forgetting them?
How do they get into the Black Stars, players from Kotoko, Hearts, Berekum Chelsea and Ashanti Gold.
We are practicing discrimination agaist mature and taller players who are very good and ready for the Black Stars. Don't you think if they also have a global tournament we will discover a lot of big, tall and well fed lads in the local league for the Black Stars?
Using 3-weeks youth tournaments to select Black Stars players is problematic. All these players are from lower tier teams like Tema Youth and Liberty professionals.
We should select from the best players in the league due to performance over greater number of matches, but not 3-weeks youth tournaments.

Instead of calling these players one-by-one to the national senior team, I would rather suggest that this squad be groomed, as one unit, to gradually become the lack Stars down the road. This will fortify their cohesiveness, improve their long-term relationship as one family, improve comradeship, respectfully learn the weakness of team mates while offer support and encouragement. This approach can also reduce the animosity and back-biting that some players employ to the detriment of the team. Being together for a log period shall improve relationship and yield much success on the field of play. Of course, with appropriate guidance and support.
