There should not be any tribalism in sports when it comes to defending the FLAG of Ghana. Ghana athletics is a mess now. There is too much tribalism and corruption. Look, history had shown and proofed that the best sports men and women come from Volta and Northern Regions. When it comes to running and soccer. Names in big time soccer such as Dougu Moro, Baba Yara, Kwesi Owusu, Malick Jaberi, Sulley Mugthari, Abedi Pele and his sons, and many of them. The north can produce World titled boxers if the training and facilities are there.
When it comes to running and field events the Volta and Northern regions produced runners like Alice Anum, Grace Bakari.Sam Bugiri a medical doctor now was the first African to run the 1/4 mile under 47 seconds. Others who dominated these races were Awudu Kumbruwa of Kanton training college, Atanga from Ghana college Tamale. The North coached by a Peace Corp by name Pat Meeham brought seven athletes each year from the north for the inter-regionals and they won the running events from 220 to cross-country. The half mile, the mile as well as the 3 and 6 miles were dominated by Adolf Tingan of Wa teacher training college Atipaga, from Navrongo secondary and one Jacob Balanoe Yemme from Wa teacher training college. The field events were always dominated by people like Dr,Puffah from Government training college Tamale who is at Winneba now.
Other sports such as field hockey currently which school in Ghana can beat Wa secondary school. But go see the equipment and facilities they use.
What happened to all the sporting programs which led to the making of these athletes?. Politics and tribalism led to the demise of all these in the Volta and Northern regions.
Guys in modern days sports, height and strength plays a major rule in winning. Most selected Ghanaian athletes lack the height and strength. The black stars can compromise this with speed and endurance. They should always control the balls on the ground and learn to play penalties .Asamoah Gyan should never be allowed to kick any penalty for Ghana.

ASAMOAH GYAN STILL PLAYS FOR THE BLACK STARS BECAUSE THE GFA & NATIONAL TEAM ARE DOMINATED BY AKAN TRIBAL BIGOTS, PERIOD.
THIS TRIBAL BIGOTRY IS VERY MUCH PREVALENT IN GHANA, AND AFRICA.
