Zambia’s Coach threatens to quit

Chipolopolo Head Coach Herve Renard has hinted at a possibility of quitting the job after his side’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ghana in September.

The 2012 Africa Nations Cup winners visit Ghana in Kumasi in the penultimate match of group D with Zambia looking for not less than maximum points to progress to the final round of the ‘Road to Brazil’.

Speaking after Zambia’s triumph in the recently concluded Cosafa Cup hosted by Zambia, the French Coach; a master minder of the 2012 Afcon historical triumph said that a lot of people are working towards his failure and may force him to quit.

“My only good response was to win the trophy (Cosafa) and I think I did well to keep quiet,” he said of his media blackout prior to the regional tournament.

”Last Saturday lot of people were waiting for me to fail, but unfortunately for them I didn’t, maybe some people are tired to see the Muzungu on top of the Chipolopolo so I am sorry for that.”

“We have another big rendezvous sometime in September, and maybe after the game of September, I will decide what I want to do for my future and this country and people will also decide what they are going to do with me,” he said.

Renard however reminded Zambians who have failed to appreciate his work that they will realize it in his absence.

“But I think that you will realize the job that we did with Patrice my assistant when we will be very far from this country.”

“This is what happens in life we appreciate the people more when they are far, because you realize maybe they were not so bad. I am telling you in advance what will happen in future”, he concluded.
