Uganda sound Ghana alarm

Uganda coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has warned his team of a difficult Ghana game on Saturday. The two sides face off this weekend in an epic clash at the Namboole Stadium in Kampala. The Serbian trainer who masterminded the Cranes one all draw with the Black Stars in Kumasi in September has attempted to tone down the country’s high expectations. “Ghana is not the team you can threaten. In recent years travelling across Africa they (Ghana) have only lost once by accident to Zambia. We are playing a great team, one of the greatest African teams but we will give our best.”

“I want to call it an epic clash, one we really want to get the best out of and look forward to qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations,” Micho said.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old stand-in Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa who was key in a 3-0 friendly victory over Ethiopia last Sunday with a goal and assist, is sounding very confident.

“We are ready for Ghana. It was a good performance from the boys. It’s the kind of result you need ahead of a big game,” the attacker said.

Uganda are expecting the arrival of substantive skipper Andrew Mwesigwa and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Dennis Onyango, in camp on Tuesday.

The Cranes lie bottom of Group E with four points from four games with Ghana top on eight points.
