Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu, after losing 0-1 to their Ugandan counterparts last Saturday, has declared that the Black Stars qualification for next January’s Nations cup heavily depends on how they approach the Togo game this Wednesday.

Speaking to media men on the chartered Asky aircraft on their way back home, he said, “Our destiny is in our hands now. We are going to do our homework well to make sure we win at all cost in Tamale.

“We won’t take anything from the home team (Uganda), they did very well. But I must also say that we didn’t disgrace ourselves. We did all we could but things just didn’t work for us. It was a difficult game.

“It’s been difficult for Ghana football lately, but I think a win against Togo will turn things around.”

Touching on whether substantive skipper of the side Asamoah Gyan will be available for the Tamale clash, he indicated that “I can’t say yes or no. For now we know he is not part of us. He trained with the team, but we don’t want to rush him. If he recovers fully before our game against Togo, fine.”

Ghana will host Togo in their last Nations Cup qualifiers at the Tamale Stadium on Wednesday.
