Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has indicated that the Youth and Sports Ministry’s alleged lack of funds could prevent the team from qualifying to the 2018 world cup in Russia.

Money to fund Black Stars activities have not been easy to come by under the current Sports Ministry. George Afriyie however believes that the current situation could be a hindrance in the team’s quest to qualify for a fourth successive World Cup.

“The no money syndrome could affect us. We are unable to do a lot of things due to the unavailability of funds. We were supposed to send scouts to Togo to watch a game but we couldn’t because there was no money.” George Afriyie told Asempa FM.

The Black Stars will welcome the Cranes of Uganda at the Temale Sports Stadium on Friday as both battles for 2018 FIFA World Cup.
