Inkoom axed due to lack of playing time for club

Ukraine-based defender Samuel Inkoom says he is not worried over his exclusion from the Ghana squad that will play China in a friendly on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old right-back was not picked by head coach James Kwesi Appiah in his 18-man squad.

Inkoom has been axed from the squad for lack of regular playing time at Dnipro FC; watching their opening five league matches from the bench.

But the former Asante Kotoko defender says he is not much worried.

“I’m not worried over my exclusion. I’m calm and I respect the decision of Coach Kwesi Appiah,” Inkoom said.

Inkoom insists he is working hard at Dnipro FC to earn game time that will earn him a national team call-up.

“My teammates call me ”Cafu” at training. I think they’re impressed by my runs down the right flank as well as my decent crosses.”
