Ernest Thompson, Ato Ahwoi to step down

Accra, Aug. 4, GNA - Mr Ato Ahwoi (pictured) and Ernest Thompson, Board Chairman and Secretary respectively of Accra Hearts of Oak are set to leave their posts after the next Board meeting at a date yet to be announced.

Mr Thompson, who single handedly fought the Charles Taylor's protracted case on behalf of Hearts told the GNA Sports on Monday that after serving the club since 1994, he needed to have some rest.

He also hinted that Mr. Ahwoi has also notified the Board of his intension to take a similar rest.

Asked whether the Taylor transfer saga influenced his decision, Mr Thompson responded in the negative saying, "after serving the club for nearly a decade, I need to have a rest for someone else to continue".
