Ghanaian politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, has contended that humans lives are more important than elections, thus the government should value lives more.

He explained this assertion as said in an interview with host, Kwame Afrifa on Happy FM’s political show ‘Epahoa Daben’ that these same humans are the ones who will join queues to vote, hence if all human lives are lost due to this Coronavirus, there will be no one to join queues to vote for them in the coming elections.

According to him, if exposing people to the virus is what it will take to compile a new voters’ register, then he would prefer the old register be used.

“We should value the human life and put the people first before anything else. If you say you will allow people to go out there because of a new voters’ register, then I don’t support that. The Coronavirus is still out there and people are dying but if because of your political ambitions, you want people to go out there, I will not support you”, he said.

Kennedy Agyapong further took the opportunity to say that even though he does not believe in complacency, he must admit that president Nana Addo has done extremely well within his three and half years of governing the nation.
