Chaos in Berekum Arsenals camp

Three people, who believed formed Berekum Arsenal, are threatening court action against Yakubu Moro the chairman and bankroller of the club. According to Ransford Osei, he together with Yakubu's brother and one other person brought the club from grass root, i.e. formed the club from second division where they gave it to Yakubu to be taken care of, but it now seems Yakubu has instend turned the club to his bonafide property and has registered the club in his name including certain people they don?t know about.

According to Ransford, former Berekum Arsenal striker John Paintsil's transfer fee amounted to several dollars but the chairman gave them only 5 million cedis to be shared between the three. Also, the team bus which he claimed to have been bought by Mr. Appraku [A business tycoon base in Berekum] was bought by Paintsil's transfer money $18,000. Again, the 120 million cedis given to them by GHALCA was spent by him alone.

So, they have made up their mind to send Yakubu Moro to court to claim their team. Asked whether they have contractual agreement papers to support their stand that they gave the team to Yakubu, Ransford said because of Yakubu's brother who helped them to form the team, they really had confidence and faith in him but they have now realized that, Yakubu want to cheat them so whether agreement papers or not, they will get their team back.

Chairman Yakubu, in an interview, accepted the fact that, they gave the team to him with no documented agreement. Howevere, since he has spent a lot on the team they can send him to anywhere they want. He emphasized that the team expenditure every month is more than the income and Paintsil's transfer fee is not up to his spending on the club. He also said, there are rich and important personalities in the Berekum district, but he alone is sacrificing for the club. Wait for more details later.
