Match ends abruptly as home team fail to pay match officials

Efutu Nyenasin (C/R) Jan. 11, GNA - A crucial second division league match between Cape Coast Zakhour F/C and Nyenasin Real United at Nyenasin on Tuesday, ended abruptly when the home team failed to pay match officials at half time, as agreed.

The score at the time was 1-0 in favour of Zakhour F/C. According to class one referee, Emmanuel Adzato who handled the match, regulations of the Regional Football Association (RFA) stipulate that home teams pay the fees of match officials.

He said although the management of Real United promised to pay the officials at half time, they failed to honour their promise saying that the match was poorly patronised.

He therefore called off the match and submitted a report on the incident to the secretariat of the RFA.
