Asamoah in Northampton switch

English Second Division side Northampton Town have completed the signing of Ghanaian-born striker Derek Asamoah on a one-year contract.

Asamoah, 20, has impressed Town boss Kevin Wilson whilst on trial at Sixfields and scored for The Cobblers against Dublin Saints last Wednesday during the club's pre-season tour of Ireland.

Asamoah played his football at Slough Town last season, scoring three times in eight appearances, and also had a trial at Leicester City where he scored twice in two reserve matches.
