It is a shame for a student of history in the capacity of a President to do what he did. Where is the Lands and Natural Resources Minister? Do same as Minister Amewu. That is also another rotten sector and we should carry it along with the "stop galamsey" campaign. Stop illegal mining and stop illegal logging? They go together. The good Gonja Overlord the fired the first shot to the shame of Mahama. Help expose the forestry commission as is the case of minerals commission. Go to the Gonjaland (Damongo, Daboya, Bole) and its environs and behold what has transpired there pertaining illegal logging of trees. The youth have advocated against this menace for only God knows how long, but all the effort of the youth fell on death ears. It is actually a shame to see this article cum ultimatum at this very very very late hour. Selfish and greedy leaders.... Now that they no more get the `good` wood, they have now resorted into felling the trees for charcoal where the so called chiefs place taxes on each bag of charcoal..... Very pathetic!!!! sooooo annoying.

I thought they will even encourage people to plant trees in these areas,but they are rather allowing people to cut the few trees which are there.
Anyway,why am I surprised,after all,SADA which most of the members were from that area,squandered the money they were supposed to use to improve the living standard of their own people.

It's very sad that I'm the face of all this activities that's destroying the very existence of his people in the gonja traditional area and some parts of the northern regions,the gonjas can still issue statements defending John mahama and his brothers who took advantage of this illegal logging.They say charity begins at home but in the case of our gonja brother,destruction begins at home,this so called permits were issued by the John mahama government,meanwhile Gilbert Iddi who was task to do tree planting under SADA embezzled the money and walking a free man,when it comes to votes John mahama turns to the mass but when a situation affect the mass,he shields the individuals he puts incharge to supervise,if your mandate in depends on the mass then who's interest do you seek?no wonder he lost and pretending not to know the reasons why he lead the ndc out of power.The cummunities must rise up against anything that affect their lives,if they can pick up arms against themselves on chieftaincy,why can't they do same on any illegality going on in their traditional areas?who do we choose to fight against what the laws of Ghana re against but fail to fight against the laws allow us to do?i sometime feel blacks re second class humans,the character of the Blackman can be liken to goats who re so destructive by nature and the character of the whiteman can be likened to that of the sheep who re so orderly discipline,the sheep obey so easily than goats,that's why voted against John mahama when he referred to himself as a dead goat,by that statement he defined his destructive nature and I am not surprised our environment got worse under his watch,never again should we allow such a person from the norther sets to rule us again,he's a confuse personality without directions and a clear sense of purpose.

The NDC under John Mahama institutionalized illegal logging in the Gonja area. The logs were sent down to Techiman for processing and sale. It is great news his people have now found it prudent to fight the menace.
