I think people are missing the point of what the Ga youth are saying. The Osu castle goes back far beyond Ghana becoming a nation in 1957. They are not saying it should not be used as a museum but that it should be a museum that informs us and tourists of its whole history, which goes back to the slave trade era and ends with its being used as a colonial governor's office and finally a presidential bu8ilding with the birth of Ghana.
The slave trading era of Ghana was a shameful one but is something that Ghanaians need to take responsibility for and learn from. We sold our own to the europeans: and we need to learn from this to become a better people. To deny the past of the castle beyond Ghana's independence is denying the truth of what really hapened.
