  The problem with Africans, the problem with Ghanaians is that we always take the side of bandits, crooks and dishonest people. Accra is a cesspit, because anytime government or the law tries to clamp down on any form of lawlessness, be it squatters, tro-tro drivers, taxi drivers, encroachers, street hawkers...you name it, the ignorant uncivilized mob blames the ENFORCERS. Until we the citizens take the law into our own hands, Ghana (Accra) will remain a jungle of subhuman species such as us!!!

  The AMA can be right but fail to explain themselves well. The payment can be for the cost for removing & storage of the cars. If the mechanics had followed the court order as soon as they were ordered then the AMA will not be getting involve. So I think the payment is to AMA for their work done.

Its people like you allow yourself to be trampled upon. If you work for AMA then think if based on the article whether the so-called chief is right. If you have any beef and you know there more to what have been written then come and clarify, not use abusive words.

  That is when you have people who do not know what they are doing in office,this is very simple,in every part of the world you pay a fee for towing your car found parked illegally,and in this case the car was in the place illegally which the owners can take the shop owner to court to retrieve the money since the car was in their custody at the time,the owners may not be aware of the court order but the same time the authorities have the right to tow the vehicles and charge them as such.

  One faction in March this year filed an ex-parte application to take possession of the land, which an Accra High Court granted. “It is further ordered that the Accra Metropolitan Assembly provides assistance by removing the broken down vehicles the defendants have put on the land which they use as auto workshop,” the order given by Justice Daniel Mensah read.
  
  AMA SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THE MECHANIC A DEADLINE TO HAVE THE CARS REMOVED FROM THE LAND. AFTER THE DEADLINE. AMA CAN GO IN N TOW THE CAR N EXPECT THE MECHANIC TO PAY TO RETRIEVE THE CARS. DID AMA GIVE THE MECHANIC AMPLE NOTICE? DID AMA TICKET THE MECHANIC BEFORE TOWING THE CARS? NO....AMA, DO THE RIGHT THING
