Dr Truth, your writings have many truths but I think you missed out on this. English is very important. It is the surest way to social mobility in the world and even in Ghana. If you cant speak English, how do you communicate with people who don't speak your native language? How are you going to answer telephone calls at work? When you are at work at Prisons and there is an incident, how are you going to report it? Akua Donkor is my witness. She can testify to you, her difficulties. She just sits and listens at functions and when people are clapping, she also claps. Even a local FM radio station will not employ you if you can't speak English.

Congratulations, mama for fighting a good fight. You're an inspiration to your children and the youth as a whole. Ghanaian youth must stop chasing money through sakawa and armed robbery and get education (quality one. Now mama, you can go on to acquire a vocational skill.
Education is life long. No one is too old to acquire education. We need to keep our brain busy and active.
As i write this piece, my 42 year old wife is in her final year pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Finance in one prestigious university down south. She hasd earlier on acquired HND in Accounting & Business Studies. I'm also 50 and will be graduating with my Third (3rd), yes, 3rd Master's degree in October this year. Yea, you're just thinking why don't I go for PhD then! By God's grace, I will get it even if I'm 70 years. So my point is let's seek knowledge, because knowledge is power. If you think Education is expensive try IGNORANCE!

Sorry. By the time of completing SSS, I wonder if the Prisons Service would be willing to take Paulina on.
First, their entry requirement: Age will disqualify her.
Secondly, the physical training could be a hurdle. At 60 or so, her ageing body would not be strong enough to withstand the rigorous physical training their recruits go through.
I will rather encourage Paulina to go on to university [there no age barrier here] and pursue a degree. With this in hand, she can go pursue the professional law course at Makola and be a professional lawyer.
She can then be a better advocate serving people who don't deserve to go to prison. There are many in prison who have been wrongly accused and are doing jail term for no reason while their accusers [the wrong doers] are enjoying life outside the prison walls rather.
Congratulations so far. God grant you long life to see you get a professional life and don't give up, Paulina.
With the help of God, an objective in life is possible and attainable.

There was a man who really took good care of his body. He lifted weights and jogged 6 miles a day. One day, he took a look in the mirror - yes, he was a bit vain - and noticed that he was tan all over except for his penis. So, he decided to do something about it.
He went to the beach, completely undressed himself and buried in the sand, except for his penis, which he left sticking out.
Two old ladies were strolling along the beach, one using a cane. Upon encountering the penis sticking up over the sand, she began to move it around with her cane, remarking to the other lady, "There's no justice in the world."
The other lady asked what she meant.
The lady with the cane replied,
"When I was 20, I was curious about it.
When I was 30, I enjoyed it.
When I was 40, I asked for it.
When I was 50, I paid for it.
When I was 60, I prayed for it.
When I was 70, I forgot about it.
Now, I am 80 and the damn things are growing wild on the beach and I'm too old to squat."
SHE IS NOW WELCOME AMONG THE EDUCATED WOMEN IN NIGERIA AND GHANA WHO PAY FOR IT.
