Congratulate MESTI and de EPA for this initiative. My view is that civil society must be supported to do this education and awareness creation exercise with government officials acting as resource persons else it will look like government coming over to tell us their usual " sweet stories".

Talk is cheap! What are the Minister and his outfit doing about the situation, thus far? We are still witnessing raging devastation of our Forests, and no significant attempt to regrow the Trees. As at now, we are still dependent on imported Wood for Construction and Furniture. And because our MPs have undeservedly sufficient remunerations to afford the Wood for their numerous Mansions and posh Furniture, they do not care to do anything about it for the rest of us.
We have not made any significant efforts to reduce our Carbon footprint, and the pollution still goes on unabated. So, what does the Minister expect?
I hope he does not respond to similar concerns like this with that lame excuse that the trend is global.
Surely, when Sunami rams down the Coasts of Asia, we would catch its repercussions. When Hurricanes touch down in the USA, we would eventually feel the shifting winds. When Monsoon Winds run amok over Asia, we get the drift. When Earthquakes hit Japan, we might subtly be affected by shifting plates of the Earth Crust. And when the Emission of fumes from Vehicles in India reach the Ozone Layer, we would all share in the direct hit of insidious rays from the Sun, and the Greenhouse effect to raise our temperatures.
We have known this for a long enough time, now. This year is not the first that folks have died from Climate Change in Ghana. Therefore, the Minister is not telling us anything new. He may be only talking about the Sun's impact on folks, now, that its heat is killing folks. But many others have been dying from floods as well, in the past, all because of the same phenomenon that the Minister and his fellow MPs have failed to help the Government find reasonable counter-efforts to mitigate.
We are in dire need of immediate actions to reduce the harm to lives, and slow the rate of devastation to our Environment, in the very least. We should be encouraging and assisting each other to diverge into Alternative Sources of Energy both for fuel for our Vehicles and Electricity.
If we don't act now in an emergency mode, we would soon push the limits our Forests down to only the Western Region and Southern Brong Ahafo. And with that would be followed by massive recursive famines.
The Heat Wave may be transient but recurrent annually, while our Agricultural Lands fast lose their fertility and moisture retention to be of any productive.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Mr. Minister, that was the reason why you and your partners were given money to plant tress in your own arear (Northen Region), what happened with the millions given to those SaDa boys. You talk like a school child.
