where are the seatbelts? you are aware we don't have them in these 207 and sprinter buses but you are insisting passengers wear them. what is wrong with the police?

There is nothing wrong with the Cops ! They are there to enforce the laws for the protection of life and property. Mind you ! The seat belt law is not meant for "trotro and bone shakers alone" . It's meant for all vehicles and especially front seat passengers. To those who ride in unsafe public transportation vehicles, please make it a mandate not to distract the drivers and also desist from unnecessary arguments with the mates . Folks ! try also to prevent drivers from drinking Palm wine from the village stops and if they get mad at you, just alert the Cops. It's your right for self protection.

Wearing of seat belt is very good and saves lives aswel, but, just mention one traffic offence the police themselves are not guilty of.
Also there is a saying that charity begings at home.
1.several people have been prosecuted for not wearing seat belt and using mobile phones whiles driving.
(Yet you will meet a police vehicle with senior men in it without wearing a seat belt and the driver talking on phone which to them is not offence).
2. They prosecute people for insecure loading. (Yet whey load food stuffs in the police cars with senoior men sitting by them when returning from thier so called road checks)
3.They prosecute people for drunk driving.(Yet you see a police hevicle boldly park infront of drinking bar whiles both jnr and snr men drinking alcohol in there after they come and sit comfortably in the police vehicle and drive off) It goes on and on that i can mention thousands of them.
Lets not talk of using of vehicles with try numbers after 6pm and weekends, overspeeding in towns and careless driving still the same police.
This is a good move but it is just to enrich the police MTTD unit, thanks.

We always concentrate on only an aspect of the purposes of inacting the Road Traffic Rules and Regulations which is raising revenue for the state, leaving the rest.
1. What happend to the law which was inacted to prevent mini buses type (Urvan) from traveling more than 18km?
(Now these mini buses shuttle Accra- Kumasi, Tamale, Togo everywhere they want because they will pay Vehicle Income Tax (VIT)
2.What has happened to First Aid and Fire safety training as part of process leadining to aquiring driving license?
3.Why do the police leave town and vilages along the road side where there is a high risk of a pedestrian being knocked down by overspeeding vehicles and hide themselves in curves and under trees with the speed gun?
