Ghana has nothing to offer. Sooo many professors yet nothing works in Ghana. this professor is even supporting a mistake. we don't 'pour' libation. libation is not liquid to be poured. libation is an act, so we 'perform' libation. this simple thing, professors don't know. Dr charles wreko Brobbey is expert in solar with Ph. D in solar. Yet he has spent most of his life with this solar Ph. D and cannot come out with anything about solar to help in energy production in Ghana.

It is sad to hear a so-called professor of academia belittling the importance of Christianity. How would our lives be if Christianity had not started social changes through education and social welfare? Yes, there are some "Wolves" in sheep clothing among Christians but that does not make the whole religion useless. For your information, almost all of the inventions in the Industraial Revolution in Europe that has trickled down to us in Africa were started by Christian inventors. Isaac Newton was a Christian, George Stephenson, Gallileo, Copernicus, Columbus, Johnan Gutternberg, and a host of many inventors were Christians and were are enjoying the fruits of their labors. Just mention any of our so-called traditional religious leaders who have invented any meaningful thing, apart from destroying others! Shame on you!

A country is developed through science and technology not prayer camps nor divine intervention. So thats where their priorities lie.You do not need a microscope to see that prayers dosen't develop a country.Prayer rather gives answers to the average mind without thinking about anything.Am very sorry if i sound the way i do but i need only one proof of what prayers have done for mother Ghana.English is my fifth language so please dont criticize me for my grammer.

Why this uncalled for attack on K MANU? Although there may be many right ways to worship God not all ways are right. The Prof failed to mention that before the advent of Christianity in Africa the people of that continent were not necessarily worshiping the Almighty God but in most cases worshiped idols in the form of creatures and objects such as snakes, rocks, trees, sculptured images etc; He also conveniently failed to mention that those who brought Christianity were opposed, not to the worship of God, but to the worship of multiple gods and the heathen practices associated with such worship such as human sacrifices, libation to the so-called gods and ghosts, etc. You certainly cannot convince anyone that human sacrifice, for instance, is a right way to worship God.

Professor, I totally agree with you. Gahanaians need to travel to other parts of the world before they destroy their cultural religions by adopting foreign religions. We have been deceived for far too long and we need to wake up. Look, the Jews have and celebrate forty days after the death of a person. Jews are not Christians any way. Jews perform circumcision, just as Ghanaians do,etc. Please, do not allow any foreign indoctrination to destroy your values. Do not allow crooks to use the Bible, which of course, is a book of wisdom, to deceive and defraud you. Our main problem is that, we did not have writers as did the Jews, otherwise, Okomfo Anokye, also performed wonders which were literally not recorded(written.) Who knows if there were others just as Okomfo Anokye, before he was born ? Is Okomfo Anokye also not the creation of God? Ghanaians, uphold your values! Wake from your slumber.

Religion and fetishism are one the same thing. When a person believe that when he believe that a person dead and have risen thus that person can create miracles that is fetishism. Because when I tell you that my grandfather lost consciousness and gain consciousness thus he can create miracles you will tell me that that is fetishism. When I tell you that my holy village and rivers around them are holy you will tell me that that is fetishism. But why do you reason or none reason that the Red Sea or the Sea of Gallely are holy when they are things just like the one in which I was born and the rivers around it. Religion and logic are not bedfellows. When you pray over the food and water you will consume have you not made fetish of them? Marrying people in the church is the making of fetish of marriage. Some one wrote that some scientists were Christians, but he did not know that some of them were burned alive and other where given poison by the church to drink and die because of their discoveries. Which religion has committed atrocities in the world more than the Abram religions, and they continue to do so.

Libation is a ritual pouring of a liquid as an offering to a god or spirit or in memory of those who have died.
Please, see wikipedia and other sites for the progression of the practice. The practice has died down over
the centuries. Nevertheless, it has existed one form or the other since the times of the empires of Egypt
Assyria, Babylonia, Medo Persia, Greek and the Roman Empire.
Once again the practice has ceased in recent times, in most part of the world. In the West
African subregion it is widely practiced. During heavy cultural cermonies it goes along with other rituals such as the sacrifices of animals in honour of deities.
It must be noted that ignorance has permeated through the fabric of society, since time immemorial
and the nations were and continued to be involved such practices, and ours is no exception. Libation
is poured to deities(demons) in defence, or in the name of African Traditional religion.
When God called Israel and covenated with the the nation, HE warned them against the spiritual practices
of the nations for which they should not be involved. God gave specific instructions to Moses regarding
the way HE,God, ought to be worshipped. The subseuent Jewish Prophets kept warning, admonishing,
reminding the people about their covenant relationship with God, the creator of the universe. However,
Israel, from time to time fell prey to the idolatrous practices of the nations, the consequences has
been unbearablem because the blessings and curses of the Jewish people were tied to their obedience
to God, has mandated in the book of Deuteronemy, (a rehersal of what God had thought them in Exodus),
prior to their entering the promised land. It is interesting to note that the responses of our Lord Jesus Christ
(to the Devil), came from this book, affirming the fact that HE, as a Jew was well informed about HIS
spiritual responsibilities in obedience to the Father. It is no doubt that when portions of the book that were
discovered during the time of Josiah amended the spiritual life of the people.
Idolatry is a practice that individuals, families and nations have become so much trapped into that, it is
very difficult for people to see any thing wrong with it, and they will bodly challenge you when you make
a frantic effort to advise them against the practice. This is because they see chiefs, elderly people and
even academicians (like this Professor) endorsing these things. Even some uniformed bishops
are ignorant or have not been bold to speak against the practice.
All the nations believed that God exist. The existence of God is obvious, through his creative powers.
The Bible makes it clear that the invisible qualities of God are clearly seen in the things that God has made,
so man has no excuse. Infact, the Bible says it is only a fool who will say there is no God. However, knowing
HIM (Salvation knowledge) is what the whole world lacked (Read through John 17). So to say that we knew
God before Christianity came to us is an error. The erroneous knowledge received in our society is that
God reaches us through lesser gods (deities) or the idols (abosom) that are worshipped.
THE SCRIPTURES MAKES IT CLEAR THAT THESE DEITIES ARE DEMONS (1st Chronicles 16 26).
Remember judgement was passed on all the gods of Egypt.
In the pouring libation names of deities (demons) are mentioned in disobedience to the warning by God that
names of gods should not be invoked, or be heard from our lips.(Exodus 23 13). Ancestral contacts are also
made, and God ask the question why do people consult the dead when there is a living God.
Libation pouring is being shamefully exported to other countries to revive the practice. Please read Jeremiah 44
and note the Judgement of God against the Jews remnants who were in exile in Egypt defending the practice,
when the Prophet Jeremiah warned them against.
The practice is abhorent in the eyes of God. I will suggest that we repent and make a turn around and ask men of God
to come and pray during occasions, and ask the Lord for forgiveness against the ignorance and practice of the past.
Let me take this opportunity to suggest to you that naming of children where Libation is poured should be discouraged.
Children should be dedicated to the Lord, and the occasion can be blessed by a spirit filled man of God.
The scriptures makes it clear that Satan is the one deceiving the entire world. Satan presents things which seemeth
to be ok. Satan (and demons) deceive. See John 10.10. Remember, there is a way that seems good to a man but the
end thereof is dead.
There are a lot of noble men and women who have died in ignorance, advocating such practices and endorsing all
manner of rituals and serving shrines and fetishes.
A knowledge of the TRUTH sets one free. One cannot sit down unconcerned without finding the TRUTH, for on that day
it will concern you. Salvationj must come to you and through you, your household, also, because the days are. I tell you
the days are evil.
Announce to every family member and people to shun libation, and do not be partakers of them, for they that do that are
in league with the enemy, regardlesss of their academic level. God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame
the wordly wise.
The Scriptures we have today is for our good (Read Hebrews 1). And the Gospel is not hidden. One must humbly
acknowledge his errors or ignorance and receive Christ as Lord and Personal Saviour and be properly be baptised.
