A lecturer at a medical college asked a colleague to help him with a shenanigan. He explained that he was shortly conducting a tour for prospective students, during which they would be coming down to the vaults to get their first look at a corpse. The idea was that his friend would play the corpse, and when his drawer was opened and the visitors were examining he would suddenly jump to his feet, thereby scaring the life out of them.
The friend agreed, and at the appointed hour the lecturer loaded him into the cold storage unit.
It was only when he was inside that he realized that the storage unit was not divided into individual cubicles. Instead, each slab was suspended on rails in a large open chamber, and he was surrounded by corpses on all sides.
After a few minutes he found the whole thing a bit too creepy, and he began hesitantly to call out things like, "Errm, Dave... maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all... d'you think you could let me out, I've changed my mind... Are you listening?... Is There Anyone Out There?... HEELLLOOO..., HELP???!!!"
Whereupon the body on the slab next to him leaned over, tapped him on the shoulder and, in a deep voice, said, "Would you keep the noise down, there's people in here trying to sleep!"
Naturally he screamed, and started hammering to be let out. Finally the drawer was opened and his slab was pulled out. He leapt off into the outside room... where most of the faculty were waiting for him, having been listening outside the whole time.

OUR DEAR NATION,GHANA, HAS BEEN MARCHING BACKWARDS SINCE NKRUMAH'S OVERTHROW, THANKS TO GHANA'S USELESS KNUST, UG, UCC AND OTHER USELESS LAZY PEOPLE WHO HAD OR HAVE SNEAKED INTO LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN GHANA.
THE PROBLEM IS THE OFFSPRINGS OF PAST CORRUPT GHANA POLITICIANS/LEADERS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE ECONOMY OF GHANA, AND LOOTING IT TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF TRIBAL BIGOTRY AND OLIGARCHY.
"OMAFO SARFO", AKUFO-ADDO, KUFUOR AND ADDO KUFUOR, MAHAMA AND MANY OTHERS ARE ALL OFFSPRINGS OF PAST CORRUPT GHANA LEADERS WHO HAVE PASSED ON THEIR CORRUPT LAZY GENES TO THEIR "DADA BA" CHILDREN NOW MANAGING THE AFFAIRS OF OUR COUNTRY.
THIS BUNCH OF LAZY "DADA BA" FOOLISH DUMMY NATION LOOTERS HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO OFFER OUR COUNTRY GHANA.
GHANA NEEDS A SERIOUS PARADIGM SHIFT FROM THIS CORRUPT, LAZY, CREATE LOOT AND SHARE STATUS QUO OF THE ENTIRE LEADERSHIP BEFORE IT CAN BREAK FREE FROM THIS BACKWARD MARCH TO TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF OUR DEAR COUNTRY.

KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought. It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement when recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??
Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.
GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.
Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

There is a syndrome in Ghana where those employed create an artificial shortage to make a cries so as to boost their ego and self importance. This is particularly evident in our old Universities where Professorship is awarded to a few based old men based on ridiculous criteria that is not even imposed by the likes of Harvard, Yale, Oxford or Cambridge. For example Ghana has in recent years created 3 additional Medical Schools in Cape Coast, Tamale and now Ho. They are requesting a ridiculous number of publications from experienced people who even qualify to teach in premier Universities in US, UK and Canada to come back and work as Lecturers and ask them to get paid less than 10 percent of what they earn abroad. Who in their right mind would do that, except the 'dons' in Ghana. Then they continue to train new doctors with no clinical teachers and guess who gains, the good old aged (65-80year olds), and who loose, the poor newly qualified and the people they are going to treat. Then they go around and tell us they have trained the best- what standards are they using? Meanwhile the publications they boast of are mainly as contributors and these never get published in any reputable international journal. That way they can continue working on contract for several years and no new blood is appointed. But come to the West where younger and very good doctors are employed as professors and make enormous contributions. Who do they think they are deceiving with these false standards. Let the government audit the number of teachers in these schools mentioned and they would understand that this is just not possible. To train doctors with no qualified trainers purely because o over bloated ego of a few in Ghana

The first stage in the recrutement process is to do a pre-appointment teaching demonstration before a simulated class.
These 'experts' tend to perform so poorly that we wondered if they really held PhD. On two occasions we managed to push two of them all the way to the appointments board because we were desperate to recrute them.
They were so poor that my HOD was fidgeting in his seat and had to babble incoherent excuses to the panel. Later on we were politely told to be more selective in our choice of candidates.
It has been suggested that because of racism, supervisors and academic boards in Western universities do not subject African students to the same level of scrutiny as Western students. For them Africans are useless anyway so they give them concessionary passes just to get rid of them.
So yes, you may have someone coming home with a PhD but the value is not the same.
Actually, the issues are more complicated than they appear. Also, most of these people only apply to teach ih Ghana because no one would employ them in the West.
