How many university graduates can the economy absorb? It appears we are just expanding our tertiary education system blindly without cognizance of the needs of the country/economy. What caliber of graduates are we producing (or “manufacturing”)? Do they have the pertinent skills of analyses, problem solving, communication, etc.? What level of knowledge – is it chew, pass and forget of some photocopies of some archaic notes? Please don’t waste our scarce resources.

We need more graduates to reach the so called critical mass. Better to have educated masses than bunch of illiterates who can easily be swayed. An educated population adds to security; this includes food and personal safety.
