An escaped prisoner , imprisoned for 1st degree murder, had spent 25 years of his life sentence in prison. While on the run, he broke into a house and tied up a young couple who had been sleeping in the bedroom. He tied the man to a chair on one side of the room and his wife on the bed. He got on the bed right over the woman, and it appeared he was kissing her neck. Suddenly he got up and left the room. As soon as possible the husband made his way across the room to his bride, his chair in tow, and whispered, "Honey, this guy hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw him kissing on your neck and then he left in a hurry. Just cooperate and do anything he wants. If he wants to have sex with you, just go along with it and pretend you like it. Whatever you do don't fight him or make him mad. Our lives depend on it! Be strong and I love you." After spitting out the gag in her mouth, the half naked wife says: "Dear, I'm so relieved you feel that way. You're right, he hasn't seen a woman in years, but he wasn't kissing my neck....He was whispering in my ear. He said he thinks you're really cute and asked if we kept the Vaseline in the bathroom. Be strong and I love you, too."

How many lives did he destroy? Armed robber is an armed robber. Others were shot on sight. You lucky to be imprisoned. So, if you have now become a born again saint, that is good. That doesn't means you should be pardoned. Stay in the prison and preach those your colleagues who would be brought into the prison. The only thing, I think the state can do is to reduce the years you have to serve. Pastors go to prison yard to preach to the inmates and if Ankaful prison is lucky to get you, then, the only thing is to give you Pastor's dress and ordain you as a Pastor. You go round all the prisons in Ghana and preach your Gospel According to Saint Atta-Ayi. This way, the inmates will listen.

Ghana should consider tagging some less hardened criminals to ease congestion at the prisons. This will enhance prisoner intergration into mainstream society as they can be monitored and restricted with their movements.

If Attaa Ayi can get presidential pardon like the stupid minister said, then no pastor who steals church money or rapes pple's wives, or commits fraud, and continues to preach should ever be imprisoned. The law of Ghana is above all religions and should never be broken for a criminal's so-called repentance.
This minister should be fired. Foolishness. Stop using "prison christianity" to add insult to the injury that this criminal Ataa Ayi inflicted on women and whole families. Shame in Ghanaian leaders who don't know the difference btn Law and religion. And you stupid journalists too should stop polluting the publish with such poisons.

Mr. Woyongo's statement that he would recommend Ataa Ayi for Amnesty to the President is most UNFORTUNATE. If the Honorable Minister knows much about RECIDIVISM he would know that when Prisoners face potential life sentence without PAROLE, the only option left is to seek reduction in sentence through FEIGNED MODEL BEHAVIOR or Behavior Modifications.
Whether, Ataa Ayi has reformed or not is not for the Interior Minister to determine in one day and a new found companionship with the Bible in Prison is standard, particularly, with those who never expect to come out.
Yes, Ataa Ayi can be credited for doing that which is expected of ALL NORMAL PEOPLE, Good Behavior. To reward him by UNLEASHING this TERROR back into CIVILIZED SOCIETY in VERY ILL Conceived and NOT in the BEST INTEREST of Society at Large.

Ayi might have been reformed but judging by the severity of the crimes he committed, he does not deserve a presidential pardon now. How many goat, Cassava and plantain thieves are in prison who also should have just done community service? Ayi should serve not less than 30 years before a pardon. Many people have been affected by his crimes and they need justice. Let me quote Prez Bush Jnr about a prisoner who many claimed had converted and her death sentence should be changed to life without parole: "If she is really converted, she must die to meet Jesus." Ask those affected by Ayi's crimes if they will understand a Prez Pardon. In Islam, those affected must pardon him before the Prez can do that. Until then, Wayongo let Ayi have some fun at Ankarful.

Mr Woyongo advised the convict to continue to put up a good behaviour, and said his ministry might recommend his release from the prison.
“If you continue to be of good behaviour…we’ll make some recommendation to His Excellency for his consideration,” Mr Woyongo pledged.
Ghanaians remember the reign of terror and mayhem that was perpetrated by the activities and actions of Atta Ayi on hardworking Ghanaians going about their legitimate business activities by employing the most violent and barbaric means to rob Ghanaians in an endless looting spree, in Ghana.
It took the vigilance, professionalism and tenacity of the police service, then led by ACP Kofi Boakye, now the Ashanti Regional Police Commander to bring Atta Ayi to book, saying and I quote, "with the arrest of Atta Ayi and his gang a whole generation of armed robbers has been broken up. Now, he says, the police can now concentrate on tracking a new up and coming but less-hardened armed robbers", end of quote.
Today, we are being made to understand that, the man Atta Ayi, whose looting prowess and propensity is totally incomparable ever in the country, and at some point in time in our politics was compared to ex President Kufuor of the NPP by the Founder of the NDC Jeremiah John Rawlings, makes absolute nonsense of the comparison in the face of the massive looting and thievery under his own NDC gov't led by John Mahama, who ironically we are being told, could consider a recommendation for the release of this notorious armed robber.
Ghana is going absolutely nowhere under the NDC gov't, and need to be massively voted out.

Well spoken. Not that this hardened criminal has started preaching and so this minister should recomend for his release, no way, he should serve his full sentence to scare off other armed robbers

We thank God for his life if only he has really repented and accepted Jesus as his personal saviour but it is too early for any recommendation for his release. It could be one of the crafted tricks of armed robbers.
Who cares if atayi chew all the bible or
preaching like jusus and so what.
