  IT IS A VERY GOOD SUGGESTION BECAUSE OF THE DISTANCE FROM TAKORADI THE CAPITAL.THE ROADS ARE VERY BAD.NATURAL RESOURCES ARE NOT DEVELOPED EDUCATION IS NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT.IF COCOBOD/PBC LTD AND OTHER BUYING AGENTS ARE DIVIDING THE WESTERN REGION INTO BLOCKS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER OPERATIONAL REASONS,GOVT.CAN ALSO DIVIDE THE WESTERN REGION INTO TWO.IT WILL SPEED UP THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TWO REGIONS.

  Formation of States or regions have been rampant in a particular country. We are not going to copy this. Whenever there are resources, some greedy people begin to create excuses for the establishment of a state or region. This is not necessary in Ghana. When this starts, we don't know where it will stop. This man Boohene Aidoo should back off from this nonsense. He should find something else to do with his time. We should not allow anybody to destroy Ghana.

  Well said, my question to this Mr Aidoo as a "former regional minister" of the region is; what did you do as a regional minister then, to ensure the development of the Sefwi area? More so as you appear to be a "son" of the area.
  This is the problem with us Ghanaian charlatans. He came for the money, and left the people in the region worse off. Tell me Mr. Aidoo, post colonialism, what has governments in Ghana(including Nkrumah---a son of the region), done for the Western region? Everything thing close to a semblance of "development" in the southern part of the Western region is courtesy of the colonial governor Guggisberg et al, albeit they having their reasons for the projects they undertook then. Post Guggisberg, it has been some minor additions, but mostly chop, chop, by your likes. My advice to you, is rather to sit down with your Sefwi brethren, and using the district assemblies come up with meaningful plans and projects for your citizens, as well as liberate them from the dependency syndrome. Hopefully as ex regional minister you among other activities then garnered enough community development skills, to offer the citizens of the Sefwi man area. Charity as we know, begins at home.

  That's a good idea but the new region should have it's capital at ENCHI and never at Sefwie Wiawso, which sounds so tribalistic.
