The NDC started this project because they plan to open the bridge on the eve of the 2016 elections. Not that it will make any difference to the party's vaults in the Volta region because Voltarians behave like sheep. Listen to the Regional Minister: government is mobilizing monies to get the contractors back to the road. Whoever starts a capital project without knowing where the money is going to come from.

Mill tried a bit for us but most of the completed development projects were undertaken by NPP. WHY IS OUR PARTY TAKING US FOR GRANTED.

It is this authority who has to undertake this maintenance and their management had to plan to ease the travelling problems to the minimum. And to them providing the ferry was the best and only way. That is how good that management is.
Let think of the good of Ghana, use all our resources efficiently and we will see development for the people instead creating a crony of rich individuals.

Had the authorities use their brains properly they would have run the ferry for sometime to address the teething problems before the closure of the bridge. After all, who cares? It is the Volta Region;treat them as idiots and they will still vote enblock for the NDC. Serves them right.

We tend to politicize everything such that even Government officials/politicians cannot get it right. The issue raised by Togbe is not about Government, and the ruling one for that matter. We have a paid institution in charge of roads in this Country and, they should be answering. The least we expect is a response from the sector Minister after checking with his planners why this serious lapse. The Volta Regional Minister jumping in and lying to cover up or give hope is futile. We are tired of all this ignorance. Technocrats and bureaucrats often hide behind politicians to cover up their inefficiencies. If things are working well, road construction; school building; hospitals etc; should have nothing to do with Government for which they would be taking credit. Allow our institutions to work and hold them accountable for failures.

Kudos VR chiefs. Damn it ER chiefs Volta Region has several ethnic clans and tribes but I doff my hat to them. When it comes to regional politics and critical regional developments they have the capacity to suppress their emotions and petty differences and merge to take concerted actions to put incumbent governments on their feet.
They identify and act positively on Regional interests appropriately.
So VR House of Chiefs put pressure on Kufuor’s administration to build Keta sea Defence Wall, Tema -Sogakope- Aflao Rd, Eastern Corridor etc. They did it again yesterday in a grand style.
Yesterday VR House of Chiefs led by indefatigable Togbe Afede expressed frustration over inadequacies associated with alternative routes outlined between Accra and the region, following the closure of the Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku for repair works.
They consequently called on the Mahama administration to fix without delay the Senchi -Akuse and Sogakope-Adidome-Ho Roads. Kudos VR house of Chiefs.
In contrast, ER House of Chiefs and their opinion leaders are insensitive to the needs of their people.
They are too docile, timid and damnably timid. They look on and several important roads, whose traffic levels are far more than VR roads deteriorate, deteriorate and deteriorate.
How can ER House of chiefs just look on and Nsawam –Suhum, Suhum-Asamankese, Nsawam-Asamankese-Kade-New-Abirem-Oda, Nsawam –Aburi, K’dua-Bunso, Odumase-Oterkpolu-Asesewa, Nkawkaw-Atibie-Afram Plains, Anyinam-Kwabeng -Abomosu etc, etc become death traps.
Even Tettey Quarshie Hospital at Mampong is deteriorating with leaking roofs, non-functioning lifts and equipment, no drugs, broken beds, Lack of housing facilities etc. There is no attention
Aburi gardens are being desecrated and they are quite.
Bunso Agric station has been pushed underground.
Imagine what would have happened if Afadjato mountain top was desecrated in any way by Kufuor govt.
The ER House of Chiefs are too quiet and must assert themselves and take lessons from VR H.Chiefs.
ERHC have failed their peoples. The Regional HC has teeth so they should bite and seen to be biting. The Ofosu Ampofos, W Aboas, Appia-Kubis, Seth Tekpers, Julius Debras, Baba Jamals, Boohene, Addos and other NDC giants from the region are just greedy and and useless and must wake up.
They have failed. They look on and Aburi Gardens are vandalised; Bunso in denigrated. Atibie Road is impassable.
