My brother Kwame Bee, don't expose your ignorance and lack of confidence in our own institutions. In the last three years, the Ghana Navy has acquired 4 new Fast Attack Crafts(FAC) from China and 2 medium sized fully refurbished EX German Navy Albatross ships named as GNS Yaa Asantewaa and GNS Naa Gbewaa. Both ships are currently deployed in Nigeria and Cameroun in a joint multinational exercise involving the US and other partners. The dockyard at Sekondi Naval Base has been re-constructed at huge cost to provide maintenance to the Navy ships and also support the oil industry and the local fishing fleet. Very soon a Vessel Traffic Management Information System(VTMIS) with radar stations and command centers all along the coast of Ghana will be commissioned. This will be the first of its kind in West Africa which will enable the Ghana Navy exercise maximum situation awareness of the maritime domain. In fact the Ghana Navy was recently adjudged as the most progressive navy in West Africa in a ceremony held in South Africa. You will also recall the professional manner in which the Navy in collaboration with other security agencies were able to arrest a vessel carrying millions of dollars worth of cocaine in our territorial waters. This was done to the admiration of many international maritime securuty observers.. So Kwamee what is your beef?

It was a training opportunity for both the US and Ghana. Each side benefitted

May God bless the womb that bore Sgt KOFI Nti and cause Kwame Bee to bow his head in shame for displaying such gross ignorance on mass media. The acquisitions and progress of the Ghana Navy is most impressive. It is my hope that the operationalization of the Forward Operation Bases which has been on the drawing board since Ghana found oil will be expedited. I strongly believe that in spite of the deployment of VTMIS, positioning vessels closer to the threats at the oilfields would be serve better reaction times. We shall continue to pray for Ghana even in these trying times. Regardless of who governs Ghana, the nation - our motherland must progress. One Ghana

i am so glad with your swift and timely response. some Ghanaians both those living in Ghana and abroad know next o nothing about what the country has and its potential yet they are the first to criticise and condenm the country without any fact to support their claims. i rememmber the commissioning of the those vessels were shown on GTV news about 2 years ago and so was i proud as a ghanaian. i wonder if those people even listen to news. if all state institutions had good PRs just like you have done, those semi-literates denigrading our sovereign nation will sit up and learn. thank you once again. long live the Ghana Navy, Long live Ghana

My brother Kwesi, it's not as if they don't know. Most times it's sheer mischief, for very unbelievable motives. Am equally impressed by the level of reaction these obvious GN guys have put up. These are facts, not propaganda. I know for a fact that the GN has some of the finest personnel, both commissioned and non-commissioned officers in our Armed Forces. Let no one extend his/her ignorant partisan and mischievous comments to issues of the GN. Am certain such people will be handled fire-for-fire, intelligence-for-intelligence. God bless Ghana.
