Very useful and interesting article but we must confess that Citizen of Ecowas States DO NOT know their RIGHTS because these are not published.
As Ecowas has no Nationality Laws as such.it cannot issue Ecowas passports.The passports of each State must recognized by all States. It is quite possible to issue ECOWAS IDENTITY CARD which will show,,1) full name,Country of birth,Date of birth and Residential dress with pictures( and next of keen).This will avoid using passports for travel within the States. These cards can be issued by each State with National flag embodied in. What do you think ?
I do not think the suppression of borders and check points are yet effective. We should encourage this measure. It is important.
