The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, led by Regional Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Asanteman COKA, has distributed 2,000 chop boxes, student mattresses and trunks to needy Junior High School (JHS) graduates preparing to enter Senior High School (SHS).

Asanteman COKA distributed 1,000 chop boxes and 1,000 trunks to support the students through identifiable groups, including media organisations and trading groups, among others.

On Wednesday, Asanteman COKA visited the Racecourse Market to present the trunks and chop boxes to queens in charge of the various trading groups.

Speaking to the traders during the donation, Asanteman COKA said the initiative was aimed at supporting needy parents and their wards preparing to enter SHS.

“We know how some students and parents are struggling to get these items, so we decided to give you our widow’s mite,” he said.

“I urge you to ensure that these items reach the very needy students who truly need the support.”

Asanteman COKA pledged that the NPP in the Ashanti Region would continue to strengthen its relationship with traders and assist them in various ways.

For her part, the leader of all the queen mothers at the market, Nana Kyeiwaa, expressed gratitude to Asanteman COKA for the support.

She said the items had arrived at the right time, adding that the students genuinely needed the assistance.

She further noted that the traders would always open their doors to the NPP and ensure continued collaboration between the party and the trading community.
