The Ghanaian today is behaving as if destroying the environment is the only way to survive in Ghana, really? The long-term effect of environmental destruction can be felt in later years and then what? Was gold put in the ground to be dug for ornaments for human decorations or what? I don't get.
I am hoping for the international community to stop trading with us for us to feel the devastating impact of illegal mining.

Are the excavators without identification numbers? Were the machines (excavators) not registered by DVLA? What about the ports of entry into the country, aren't there any documentation for the machines? Burning the excavators in some cases is an easy way of assisting the illegal miners to conceal the identity of the financiers of the operation. Is it not possible to create a fast-track court for illegal mining operation?
