Demolish all the shacks in the slum areas in Accra and Tema and replace them with modern high rises apartment buildings. Kenya has done so likewise Ethiopia. In Nairobi Kenya, the shacks were pulled down in the biggest slum area called Kibera. Currently, modern apartments are being built in the area. Similar measures were taken across Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. In Ghana however, our leaders are unable to take such tough decisions for political reasons. No wonder we are lagging behind many African countries in terms of socioeconomic development.
