The statement should have been "every hard working Ghanaians deserves a house otherwise a shelter." Even in the US not every American deserves a house. 'Aba' overambicious statement.

This is truly an error in justification. Where is this possible, even in the rich Developed World? That is never happening anywhere in the World. People should Google and find the number of people in the USA, Canada, and Western Europe. How many working USA citizens sleep under bridges and by the wayside? It is horrible and unbelievable. Yes, forum members should Google to find out Homeless people in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mahama, since coming into office, how many simple accommodations have you constructed for the poor and needy and you are talking of home as a right. Go to your GONJA village and find out if owning a home there is a right. Stop playing politics with such issues. Owning a home has never been a right since the Colonial Era. A home ownership? Go to Accra and Kumasi and you shall see the number of people living in a single room without even Mosquito Nets and places of convenience in Accra Central and Tema.

Housing is a right, not a privilege - President Mahama!
So why haven't built enough houses with the public purse instead of paying lipservice to the problem and trying to twist the arm of landlords in Ghana?

It should be made easier for citizens to build through low cost credit for building materials for your primary home, especially if you are a tax payer. Frustrations with delays in permit system should also be addressed.

A right? Says who? And who is the giver of that right Mr. President? You may be residing for free at Jubilee House because the government has made that possible. The same can't be said about members of the public. Housing is a necessity, not a right. And people have have to finds ways of ensuring that they have housing for themselves and their families. If housing were a right, you would have made housing available to all Ghanaians when you first served as President.
