The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has called on the business community to join hands in promoting the region as a prime destination for investment.

Speaking at the opening session of the 2026 Ashanti Business Expo at Kumasi Jubilee Park on Monday, Dr Amoakohene emphasized that showcasing the region’s potential will attract development and create jobs for the youth.

The event, organised by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industries, brought together over 100 businesses to showcase their products and services.

Dr Amoakohene assured the business community of government support, stating, "President John Dramani Mahama's government is committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, particularly in the Ashanti Region."

He highlighted key government initiatives, including major infrastructural projects aimed at promoting businesses and removing transportation bottlenecks faced by traders.

"Road projects under the Big Push are geared towards facilitating trade," he noted.

Dr Amoakohene also cited policies supporting traders, such as halting extortion by some customs officers, which has provided significant relief to the business community.

He pledged the government’s continued support for businesses through sound and pragmatic policies.

The Ashanti Business Expo provided a platform for businesses to network, showcase their products, and explore new opportunities.
