They might have certainly occupied the Palace to prevent some stupidities from going on at the place It is just nonsense to give the Police such an ultimatum. The Kwahu people showed Ghana what’s expected of a leader. The kingmakers destooled their Omanhene for bringing the name of the Stool into disrepute by engaging in acts of corruption as board chairman of ADB.
The proud people of kwahu expect their Omanhene to be beyond reproach and conduct himself in such a manner that no one would even suspect that he is capable of stooping low. That’s not too much to ask.
The same kingmakers determined that by engaging in such corruption at the bank, he has lost their respect and is no longer worthy of the position of Omanhene.
How come the eastern region house of chiefs and the IGP want to impose him on the people?
The position is not a political appointment which is nearly always used to amass corrupt wealth. Every corrupt political appointee gets away with it. That has become the norm in Ghana. Corruption is now a badge of honour?
What’s the IGP going to do now? Is he going to replace the kingmakers?

Our traditions require our chiefs to be like Caesar’s wife. Caesar’s wife was suspected of having an affair with a young man. Even though a committee of elders found her not guilty, Caesar still divorced her. Caesar’s ground for divorce was that she obviously didn’t conduct herself in such a way that the ordinary person could say that she was beyond suspicion! How could Caesar’s wife be suspected of having an affair?
How could the Omanhene of the proud and decent people of Kwahu conduct himself in such a manner that he is suspected of being corrupt? That is the standard of the king makers. That standard is beyond the standard of proof beyond reasonable doubt! The court can find him not guilty. Does the court have a stool for him somewhere where he can be chief according to the court’s standard?
My question is, shouldn’t he be hiding his ignominious head in shame? Why is he jumping up and down and carrying on and drawing attention to himself and the shameful episode?
In this Ghana where we have lost all sense of propriety and where one can continue to be the national security minister after being exposed on the internet by a slay queen wearing pyjamas, it is refreshing to know that the Kwahu people still have their standards.

The Abene stool is NOT superior to Obo, Bepong, Obomeng, Nkwatia or any of the stools in the area. The real owners of Kwahu Kingdom are not the Abenes but the Kwaafo Aduana Royals currently residing in Bepong with their leader called Okogyeaman Nana Akosua Asantewaa Atafuah. She is the only one who can restore peace in Kwahu. Whoever wants to mediate in the Kwahu chieftaincy dispute including the Eastern Regional Security Council, the Regional Minister, the IGP, the Government or the Traditional Council must first consult that woman (Kwaafo Hemaa) before they can settle the dispute in Kwahu. Chiefs are citizens who must obey the laws of the nation. There have been in recent times curfews being ordered from palaces during the funeral of a queen mother, and orders for shops to be closed during the same event. This flouting of the constitution, that places those powers exclusively in the ambit of the Minister of the Interior, occurred without outcry.
We must be careful, lest chieftancu hegemony results in civil eruption.
