Yes, the Military needs to be hard and harsh on such social miscreants. This Bawku Nonsense has been allowed to go on for far too long. In the early 1960s, it was just horrific. Many people from the area and surrounding areas, some of who were medical staff were killed because of the stupidity of the people from the area. The people from the area are not prepared to take any needed employment there. Do you expect the people from the South to go and die foolishly for such idiots? Let them kill each other. Put a stronger and more stringent Curfew Hours on them. Give the Military and the Police Police to shoot on sight people who break the Curfew Hours. If people are in need of any assistance, let them call the Police emergency line for help.
These people have been allowed to fool around since the Colonial Days. Yes, l remember their stupidities at the time of Nkrumah. Just quarantine the Soldiers and the Police on them to treat those who are not law abiding with miserable cruelty. How can we develop if all ethnic groups and tribes behave so barbarically. Let Mahama be hard on them. They are his people and he can understand them best.

The government must be firm, move in and arrest the Nayiri of Mamprugu. He doesn't respect the laws of Ghana.
The Nayiri is not above the laws of the Republic. He couldn't have misbehaved during Dr. Kwame Nkrumah or Efo J.J. Rawlings' time. Like he will see his smoothness level. Who born dog? Like he will run away into exile from that his smelly hen-coop he calls a palace.
He is a nobody and simply a community chief, subject to the laws of the republic. It's still primitive practice, we allow chiefs to overrule the laws of the country when we are in a constitutional republic.
We've allowed chiefs to continue to practice archaic and outdated customs within a modern republic which has and is still retarding our country's progress.
Chiefs are the biggest problems undermining the progress of Ghana. Everywhere chieftancy dispute everyday. Meanwhile, the constitution clearly states they are only ceremonial figureheads. However, because of illiteracy, they have arrogated certain powers to themselves which are unconstitutional. Their instil fear in their subjects through intimidation, harassment, violence, terror, etc. So the citizens are afraid of them, not that they respect them.
Can you imagine how Ghana will be like, if every chief wants to misbehave like the Mamprugu Nayiri.
The government should stop pampering and cajoling him.
President Mahama should order the military to arrest that gorro-chewing village chief with his stinking fugu to show that he's commander in chief of GAF, else the president and the government will always be disgraced for fail to bring lasting peace to Bawku,
What kind of nonsense is this?

Terrorists are getting into the situation and those fools who are acting ignorant will regret. This is how it's started in Nigeria, now certain areas can't be access because terrorists have taken over. It's started like this where people think they are defending their ethnic groups. Now they have to run from their own homes or pay tax to the jihadist. Those people,if they have sense should settle whatever issues they have among themselves before they regret it. Weapons are sent from Bulkina Faso by these terrorists who want to expand their territory. God save Ghana

You have kept too long. Bawku should be declared a special military zone and certain rights should be suspended. The military should be given a free hand to operate and the media should be restricted from reporting from there.
Hardcore military personnel from the special forces should be formed into maximum of 10 man squads and dispersed throughout the area, heavily armed and mobile. They should be given cameras to verify incidents and freedom for defensive but especially offensive actions.
Naturally, killings by them should be investigated and that is what the bodycams are for but they MUST have the freedom to shoot to kill.
Instead of concentrating the military in one centralized location, such mobile teams in civilian clothing but known to the uniformed units will easily track and KILL not arrest the perpetrators of these heinous crimes and killings.
We have reached a point were it is better to trample some few rights than to have the whole country in flames.
Alberto Fujimori’s approach in Peru against the Shining Path rebels and the Casamas troubles in Senegal shows that going hard, having death squads against animals like these, works.
Just kill them.
