Your tribalism will expose you big time, you want all projects to be sited in Navrongo, you even want the regional capital to be moved to Navrongo. Navrongo is the educational hub of the upper east region are you not happy with that. Allow other places in the region to also have
some important projects, does it make sense to site the airport at paga. You should be worried how you have isolated yourselves from other ethnic groups. justloook at Builsa north and south does it deserve some good projects, look at the east of the region. Your tribalism is a disease.

Enemies of progress. You guys are the reason notting happens in the region. You had a son and daughter from your area. One a minister for aviation and another a regional minister and yet it was not done and you thing it is possible this time around, the airstrip is so close to Burkina and that was the reason it was abandoned, so you guys Chanel your efforts into something else and forget of having an airport in an abandoned site.

These fools make life difficult for governments. Why would any government mindful of the development of the UER site an airport far away from the places of residence of the majority of the population. Do you expect people travelling to Bawku, Zebilla, Pusiga, Garu, Tempane, Tongo, Bongo and the likes to first travel to Paga and then drive back through Navrongo and Bolgatanga to their final destinations? Stop the infantile, tribalistic, and backward attitude so characteristic of you people. Stop it now so the region can receive its fair share of development under JM.

Government should treat this demands with the contempt it deserves.

On the Siting of the Airport Project in Upper East Region
Paga is not ideal for an airport due to the consistent straying of aircraft into Burkina Faso during landing and take-off procedures. This poses serious safety and international boundary concerns.
A more strategic location—midway between the key towns—could provide a broader turning radius for aircraft, especially larger commercial planes, allowing safe approach paths through Bawku and Bongo Fio into the proposed landing field.
Navrongo, on the other hand, is also not suitable for a commercial airport. Let us not allow political or tribal sentiments to influence such a critical infrastructure project. This is a development that should benefit the entire region, and we must assess it based on technical merit and long-term viability.
As natives and stakeholders in the region's progress, we should rally behind this initiative—regardless of where the airport is eventually sited—to ensure it brings maximum economic and social benefit to our communities.
Regarding the current rush to acquire lands, I advise potential buyers to exercise patience. Wait until official boundary demarcations are finalized. Premature purchases may lead to the loss of investments if structures fall within restricted zones.
Lastly, it's worth noting that the Navrongo airstrip was designed for smaller aircraft and helicopters. It was never intended for large-scale commercial aviation.
Let’s keep development above all else and move forward with unity and foresight.

Similar thing I told the CEO of the then Fan Airlines when he approached the then Kassena Nankana District Assembly to improve the landing surface of the Paga Air Strip, for Commercial Flight Activities. He did it on his own anyway. When it came to the trial flight with locals, a dispute was about to arise between factions from Paga and Pungu Wusungu, leading me to direct Professor Novor not to allow any of those parties on the flight. If that Air strip is developed, there will be another Mirigu - Kandiga issue to be dealt with. I am speaking from experience as the very first District Development Planning Officer for the Kassena Nankana District Assembly from November 1990 to August 1998.
