  I am also speaking on authority, ECG is corrupt, very corrupt. ECG came and removed my old prepaid meter without my knowledge and returned 3 days later with a "New One." Yes, 3 days in the dark.

  Please, don't blame the public for resorting to such meters. The frustrations that one goes when seeking a meter or meters from electricity utility agencies is overwhelming. For instance, it takes one over 6 months and still counting to get meters from NEDCO for domestic use. Under such circumstance why won't one resort to illegal connection or using such fake meters to save his worries. ECG and NEDCO must wake up to their responsibilities and help customers to help them.

  it beat imaginations as to why you could get your money upfront, before the customer uses the power, but you don't want him to pay before using it.
  so if he used and did not pay , why do you come around complaining ?

  These ECG management throughout of the country must be sacked. they are the cause of this impropriety. Why is it so difficult for a customer to get a new mater/ You have your power to sell to consumers, why should they (consumers) bribe to get these meters. Do not also forget that it is the workers at ECG who sell these so-called fake meters to the populace. Until there is a total clean up at the ECG, the corruption will continue.

See how P&T were bluffing with their Landline telephones? Where are they now with all the private mobile phone companies? So mark my words, a time will come for ECG when their terrible dumsor will be no more because of competition.

The cantankerous behaviours of the ECG staff has been shown as the causes of these problems. And who are behind the selling of the alleged Meters? The same ECG staff.
