Well, our Chiefs have the right to choose whether to attend or NOT to attend any event or Functions where the president is likely to attend Knowing this president would probably Humiliate them by ordering them to stand up for him to greet them. This President as a shrewd operator is likely to order ,delegate or instigate an appointee to do this dishonourable task of asking Chiefs to get up for him to greet them. This is unacceptable and unheard of. Even during the colonial times the district commissioner or the governor visiting Paramount Chiefs at Joint Provincial Council of Chiefs Never asked Chiefs to stand up or behave with such contempt. I really don’t understand why our president would behave like this. Something definitely Ain’t right here. Very Strange.

Where is the Chieftancy protocols being referred to by Nana Kwame Edu VI stipulated in the Constitution of Ghana? Nana Edu should mention one single country on earth where participants at a public event do not rise when the Head of State arrives at function to welcome and/or greet him. Again, Nana Edu should mention one single palace in Ghana where President visited and ordered the host chief to rise to welcome and/or greet him. These political Chiefs should learn to respect the highest authority of the land at all public events the President attends. No protocols at public functions supersede the Presidential protocols. They must accord the office of the Head of State the ultimate respect and stop throwing their weights about. If you are a chief, your dominion, authority and influence is limited to your traditional area, but the President is the Big King of the whole Ghana. Understand it this way and behave as such.

The protocols you are looking for is with Chiefs in their Palaces, they are in the hearts of sages, and with the daily lives of the common people. Please do visit your Chief, if you have one; he will help you a lot. Maybe you will have to study the history of the making of Ghana to appreciate things you do not know and understand now. Maybe, a little bit of maturity to cull you from youthful exuberance will also help, and lastly ask the sages to point out to you the difference between political power and traditions. Good luck!

I think if the president goes to a chiefs palace or the chief invites the president to a function, then the Chief sits down for the president to greet him.
But if the president invites a chief to a function or a Chief visits the president, why should the chief sit down when the president greets him.
Example in the UK, anytime the Prime Minister visits the King in the palace, the King always stand to greet the Prime Minister.

If a Tufohene is so bold to condemn stubborn Akuffo Addo for his disrespect for our traditional rulers one would not be wrong to question the integrity of the Council of State whose duty it is to advise the President on our traditional Prtocols. Of late the Akuffo Addo who begged Ghanaians to try him as a President has grown into some monster wishing to walk over on people who come into contact with him whilst his advisors look on unconcerned. Look at his attitude towards the Trumu, Trump Bill and the advisors are cheering him on which is a disgrace to the nation. The Council of State members should act now or pack.out.

Chiefs are enstooled for life while a President is only elected for a term in office. Ghana and Africa as a continent has forgotten its beginning of the value of the Royal Family and adopted the governance of the western world by following the implementation and advocacy of democracy. The current wave of democracy is to allow regular citizens of a nation the ability to convince their fellow citizens to vote them into positions of exploitation where they enrich themselves at the expense of the citizens. It is sad to watch what politics and democracy has done to the continent and its various communities. If Africans were to focus on restructuring the system of governance by making politicians accountable through a one year tenancy assessment system, people won't rush unto politics to loot and share the countries resources at the expense of its citizenry.
