Did you ever say that when more than double that amount was used by Jeremiah John Rawlings to celebrate those stupid and nonsensical June 4th and 31st December anniversaries? Those were the times money was stupidly wasted. This is our National birthday and it should be well celebrated.
I remember those days when Konadu would be followed by an entourage of friends of the Revolution, followers of Jeremiah John Rawlings and those who wanted to be recognized and identified as followers of Rawlings. Konadu traveled with a bunch of pseudo followers in a convoy of Pajeros around. Those were the times Ghana was using money stupidly for stupid irresponsible celebrations. Yes, during such times, entourages from Burkina Faso and Libya would be in the country for a long time and we had to take care of their upkeeps. Money was wasted then but not for the celebrations of our independence.
