Queenmothers from the three factions involved in the Nkwanta South conflict – Adele, Akyode, and Challa – have come together to launch a peace campaign.
It is a significant step towards achieving lasting peace in Nkwanta South.
The initiative, supported by Joseph Awal Antwi, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, aims to bridge divides through constructive dialogue and collaboration.
Mr Antwi led the Queenmothers to meet with the Oti Regional Minister, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, to present their vision for the peace campaign.
The Regional Minister pledged his support, recognising the importance of promoting harmony within the community.
The Queenmothers convened with the MCE to discuss plans for the peace campaign, including activities centred around advocating for peace in their communities.
The Queenmothers’ commitment to achieving lasting peace was marked with a memorable group photograph, highlighting their dedication to reconciliation and unity in Nkwanta South.
“I pledge to support our Queenmothers at all levels to achieve lasting peace. The surest path to peace is dialogue, not guns,” the MCE added.
