A fire outbreak has ravaged the House 3 boys' dormitory block at the Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region, according to a citinewsroom.com report.
The blaze, which reportedly started in the evening of Monday, August 4, 2025, was being fought by personnel from both the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Commands, with additional support from the Eastern Regional Fire Command.
According to the news report, while the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, preliminary reports suggest the flames may have originated from the master's bungalow, situated within the same block as the dormitory, before spreading rapidly to the student residential area.
The master's bungalow has been destroyed, with all belongings lost to the inferno.
Emergency responders have since intensified efforts to douse the fire and prevent it from causing further destruction to other parts of the school.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported as of the time of filing this report.
Authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation into the incident once the fire is fully brought under control.
