Twifo-Praso (C/R), Aug 13, GNA – The Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District Assembly has constructed a six-unit classroom block, worth GH 149,000, for the Nyame ye Adom community in the Central Region.

He said the facility would also serve as a motivation to both the school children and teachers to step up teaching and learning.

He said government has launched the rural incentive for teachers, adding that, the district would also re-visit the best teacher award scheme, since it had been dormant for some time now.

Mr Andoh said plans were far advanced for the construction of a teachers’ bungalow to accommodate newly posted teachers to the community and urged the people to support their stay in the area.

He said the district was supervising a two-story girl’s dormitory block, form the GetFund, to accommodate 500 students for the Hemang Senior High School.

He urged the youth in the area to invest in agriculture, since it was the backbone of the country’s development.

Mr Kofi Opare, an elder of the community, praised government for the structure and expressed the hope that their road network would be improved since food stuffs gets rotten before it gets to the market centres.
