Northern Students Union organises free vacation classes

Wa, August 14, GNA – The National Northern Students Union (NNSU) is organising free vacation classes for all the students of Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Northern, Upper West and Upper East Regions.

The exercise aimed at bridging the educational gap between the North and the Southern part of the country also formed part of the Union’s contribution towards raising educational standards in the three regions.

In the Upper West Region, the exercise is taking place in Wa at the Wa Model Junior High School (JHS) and in the Upper East, it is at Bolgatanga at the Anglican JHS.

The venues for that of the Northern Region are Tamale, at the Zogbeli JHS, and Yendi at the SDA JHS.

Mr Yahaya Hakeem, National Coordinator of NNSU, who briefed the GNA at Wa at the weekend appealed to all who have the development of the North at heart to support the Union to enable it to carry out this noble cause effectively.

He specially appealed to all Northern leaders who are at the helm of affairs to consider it a duty to support the Union so that they could in turn support their younger brothers to climb the educational lather and become responsible in future.

Mr Hakeem also urged all SHS students in the various regions to attend the classes to improve on their knowledge and performance.
