Girl found dead at Ashaiman overhead

The Police in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region are investigating circumstances surrounding the death a young girl.

The lifeless body of the girl was found on Wednesday morning under the Ashaiman overhead.

The yet-to-be identified girl was found lying in a supine position.

There are speculations that the deceased might have been killed and dumped in the gutter by some unknown persons.

When DAILY GUIDE arrived at the scene, parts of the body were decomposing.

Meshach Narh Mensah, a vendor in the area told DAILY GUIDE that many people, especially women in the area, had become the target of ritualists which has caused fear and panic among residents.

He said recently another body was discovered in the area.

Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) Hebert Sosu, the Crime Officer of the Ashaiman District Police Headquarters, explained that the Sanitation Department of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly helped to convey the body to the morgue of the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the police have appealed to any person who might have information about the death of the girl to assist in investigations.

Many of the terrified residents believe the girl was killed for ritual purposes.
