A devastating fire has razed a 15-bedroom house, along with cash worth GH₵100,000 at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The property, belonging to the Abusuapayin of Gomoa Dominase, Nana Kweku Botwe, was destroyed along with several other valuables in the blaze, which occurred on the afternoon of Friday, September 19, 2025.
Nana Kweku Botwe, in an interview with Adom FM, expressed frustration, stating that the tragedy could have been averted if fire tenders in nearby Winneba, Apam, and Swedru were operational.

“We called all the fire stations, but they told us their machines have not been working for months. If they had responded on time, the house and money could have been saved,” he lamented.

On the back of the incident, the Assembly Member for Gomoa Dominase Electoral Area, Patrick Abeka, has urged the government to urgently repair and equip fire service vehicles in the three towns to prevent future disasters.
“This is not the first time lives and properties have been lost because of faulty fire tenders. The government must act quickly,” a report by adomonline.com quoted the Assembly Member.
