Joana Gyan Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has expressed deep sorrow and extended her heartfelt condolences following a tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The incident claimed the lives of senior government officials, Defence Minister Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah and Science and Environment Minister Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, alongside other esteemed individuals.
In a statement released today, Joana Gyan Cudjoe conveyed the nation's grief and acknowledged the significant contributions of those lost.
"I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Defence Minister Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Science and Environment Minister Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and other esteemed individuals who perished in the helicopter crash on August 6, 2025," the statement read.
She further lauded their unwavering commitment to Ghana's progress and the dedication they exhibited in their respective roles.
"Their dedication to public service and commitment to Ghana's development will be greatly missed. May their legacies inspire us to continue working towards a better future for our nation," Joana Gyan Cudjoe added, emphasising the lasting impact of their work.
The Amenfi Central MP concluded her message with a poignant farewell, "Rest in peace, honorable ministers and dignitaries. Your contributions will never be forgotten."
The sudden and tragic passing of the ministers and other personnel represents a significant loss for the nation, leaving a void in key areas of governance and national development.
The government is yet to release official details surrounding the circumstances of the crash, as investigations are widely expected to commence. The nation mourns the loss of these dedicated public servants, whose contributions to Ghana will be remembered.
