Amansie-West District improves police accommodation

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), April 10, GNA- The Amansie-West District Assembly has embarked on a massive renovation exercise of the premises of police personnel in the district. The exercise included the renovation of the old bungalow of the District Police Commander at the cost of GH¢2,500. Also under construction are the Datano and Keniago Police Stations, while the renovation of the Manso-Nkwanta Police barracks has been completed.

Inaugurating the renovated barracks at a ceremony at Manso- Nkwanta on Wednesday, Mr Ben Kwakye Adeefe, District Chief Executive (DCE), said there was the need to provide decent accommodation to security personnel in the country to enable them to discharge their duties efficiently. He disclosed that the District Security Committee (DISEC) is to purchase a pick-up and some motor-bikes for the police to make them mobile in fighting crime in the District. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ASP) Seth Charles Oteng, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, thanked the assembly "for living up to expectation" and entreated personnel of the police service to avoid bad practices to help them win the trust and confidence of the public.
